Iran’s push for Regional Dominance will not be Deterred

Let’s face it, as long as Iran can avoid heavy sanctions from the EU, America and other heavyweights like China and Russia, they are in the drivers seat to reach the Mediterranean Sea, spreading Shiism along the way and diluting Sunni Power.

Its All About Being the Dominant Power in the Region

And what awaits them? How about a huge naval base on the coast of Syria and Lebanon, where they can track and deploy naval vessels from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea, and harass Israel. The naval bases will compliment military bases in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, and lests not forget about Yemen and possibly Saudi Arabia. Yemen is headed for Iranian Influence similar to Iraq, with assistance from Hizbollah.

The Al-Saud family remind me of Khadafy in Libya. A tribe with oil money and a weak form of government or no government at all. At least the Saudis have an army, navy and Air force but no Parliament, meaning descendants of one family is in control for the time being. Women are not allowed to drive or leave home without a male relative, and they are covered from head to toe, only their eyes peering out. There is something drastically wrong with that mindset.

Can Saudi Arabia Stand up to Iran?

Saudi Arabia is no match for Iran. Their petrodollars will buy lots of firepower but when it comes to troops on the ground, they are losing big time to the Houthis in Yemen, and they have tens of thousands of fighters from Muslim countries backing them up. When  oil money decreases and body bags increases, the coalition will start running like jello on a hot-tin-roof.

After the Houthis become dominant in Yemen with Iranian and Hizbollah help, they will turn their sights on-yes, you guessed it: Saud Arabia. The moment that happens, The House of Saud will implode and America, Russia, Turkey and Iran will jostle for petrodollars on the entire Arabian Peninsular. Don’t count Iran out because they will get a huge chunk of LNG and oil products in Bahrain and Qatar for sure.

Will Sunni Powers Egypt and Turkey Stop Iranian Shiism in the Region?

No way. Egypt is having to deal with Islamic State in Sinai Peninsular, the Muslim Brotherhood and other militant Islamic groups near Libya, trying to install a more extreme form of Islam in the Land of the Pharoahs. With all of the financial aid Egypt receives from UAE and Saudis Arabia, they are not keen on putting troops in Yemen to defeat the Houthis or stop Iran from becoming the dominant power in the Levant.

Erdogan in Turkey is fighting to stay afloat after surviving a coup attempt by his long time nemesis Fethullah Gulen and purging anyone associated with his schools or religious beliefs. Erdogan has become a very authorative leader, and Turkey is not interested in teaming up with Egypt or Saudi Arabia to fight Iranian Shiism.

  1. Hi, this is Taylor Borie from the Do Better Turbine. You followed me. I have to disagree with your article. Iran is a horrible country, but Saudi Arabian human rights abuses are far worse than those of Iran. Even the Houthi rebels have better human rights than in Saudi Arabia. The worst part of living in Houthi controlled Yemen is the constant bombings done by Saudi Arabia with US bombs (including two Doctors without boarders hospitals and a school for the blind) and US dronestrikes killing an American innocent teenager. My point is that regional control from Iran isn’t bad because the region is generally worse than Iran. Iran also isn’t a threat to Israel. They haven’t invaded another country in the past 250 years. They also know the US is a strong ally. Iran isn’t a threat to us or our interests. Iran is a danger to its citizens but is better than Saudi Arabia. Otherwise, the main thing they do is fight ISIS

    1. Iran is a threat to its neighbors, especially Lebanon with its financing and training of the mighty Hezbollah Arny. Lebanon once had a large Christian population, around 50 percent during the early days of Khomeini’s rein. Employing its divide and conquer tactics while exporting extreme Shiism resulted in death and destruction across the region. Destabilization is what the Iranian Regime is good at. Take a look at Iraq where Shia militias have wreaked havoc on that country. They have special military units that specialize in fragmentation. The wicked violence produced in Lebanon over the decades is attributed to Iran, and throw in Iraq and Yemen. Is it worse than the damage done through Wahabbi extremists? No Not as bad.
