The U.S. gives Israel billions of dollars in military aid for defense against an array of enemies, while Saudi Arabia dishes out Kizillions of Petro Dollars to keep the Royal Families in charge and adversaries at bay.
The major antagonist in both scenarios is Iran
While the Israelis uses the money to produce and maintain a modern army that is technologically superior to most regional armies, (with the exception of Turkey, Egypt and Iran) they know the Americans have their backs when it comes to dealing with number one nemesis, Iran.
The U.S. turns a blind eye when Israeli jets bomb a cache’of weapons in Syria in route from Iran, headed for destruction of the Jewish state; and the same is noticable when Palestinian Territory is gobbled up as new settlements for Jews. Don’t forget about moving our Embassy to Jerusalem when nearly everyone else is in Tel-A-ViV. President Trump took it a step farther by endorsing Israeli control of the Golan Heights, formerly a part of Syria but lost in the 1967 Middle East War.
Iran would like nothing better to have influence or control from the Persian Gulf through Iraq and Syria to the Mediterranian Sea, so they can target the Jewish State and inflict their will. One on one Israel cannot handle Iran and its Proxies. That is why Israel and the U.S. are in-step to never let their plan come into fruition.
According to Homeland Security Digital Library, The State Department and Israel signed a 10-year Memorandom of Understanding (MOU) on military aid covering FY2018 to FY2028 on September 14, 2016. The MOU was for $38 billion which replaces the previous $30 billion 10-year agreement that ended in FY2018. Since World War II the U.S. has given Israel $134.7 billion in aid. The majority being Military but economic aid has been dished out in large numbers also.
Israel is definitely a close friend and partner of the U.S. State Department, who treats Saudi Arabia as wayward step-children when it comes to Israel.
Saudi Arabia-U.S. Relations is a Security Arrangement
Although Saudi Arabia is considered a friend, the U.S. is there to make sure the world’s Energy Supply doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. King Salman and his son Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) have plenty of enemies who would love nothing better than to remove the Al Saud family from the throne, dead or alive I might add, preferably dead.
Prince Sultan Air Base is home to several dozen U.S. fighter jets and Patriot Missille Batteries to counter Iranian threats. President Trump says the Saudis are paying 100 pecent of the cost to Protect Saudi Arabia. More than likely the Saudis are paying the majority of the cost but not 100 percent. You can’t believe everything Trump says. The Saudis have purchased billions of dollars of sophisticated weapons from the U.S. over the years, including fighter jets, defense systems and drones to buttress the absolute monarchy. With all of that military hardware in their possession the Saudis aren’t much on fighting. They pay millions to mercenaries from Sudan, Senegal, the U.S. and wherever else available, to kill Houthi fighters in Yemen, who are shooting powerful missiles provided by Iran into The Kingdom, destroying oil installations.
In order for the U.S. to continue supporting the extremist Wahhabi Sharia regime the Saudis have obliged America by making nice with Israel (on some issues) and relaxing laws that discriminate against women and non muslim. In other words they agreed to open up the country and allow the arts, movies and other forms of entertainment. Recently the Ruiz-Joshua heavyweight title fight was held in Diriyah. Saudi Aramco pitches in by pumping enough crude to keep the cost of gasoline in America tolerable. Those are some of the reasons America turns a deaf ear to their no tolerance approach to protest or not allowing an opposing point of view in the country. If you protest in The Kingdom you could easily lose your head.
America will never forget 9/11 when 3,000 citizens died during the Twin Towers Bombing. Most of the combatants came from Saudi Arabia and they rejoiced in our tragedy. They gave the appearance of having a heavy heart, but the Monarchy were much more Jihadi bent than they are now.
Iran wants to Influence or Control Resources and Politics in the Region
The U.S. is there to keep the oil flowing smoothly through the shipping lanes and prevent an all out war that may destroy Saudi Arabia and put Iran in charge.
The U.S. is also in the Region to bring Iran to its knees with heavy sanctions that could be described as an Economic Embargo for refusing to drop its Nuclear Ambitions. The Sanctions are hurting the Shia State, the country is broke, but they still have powerful proxies in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Yemen that are hell bent on turning over the apple cart.
Iran Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would like to exert similar influence in Saudi Arabia as with Assad Family in Syria for decades. The Alawite Ruling Class in Syria, although a minority is closer related to Shias than to Sunnis. He wants to keep Assad in power and also keep Hezbollah (Shia) powerful in Lebanon, so they can continue to harass Israel. The majority of Iraqis are Shias and Iran has mantain leverage for three decades. He would like to get rid of the Al Saud Family in Saudi Arabia, replacing with Shia dominance, with control of the oilfields.
President Trump is seeking regime change in Iran whether he admits it or deny like he’s done in the past. He also is trying to defang the Shia Militias in Iraq, especially the ones backed by Hezbollah. Keep a close eye on Iraq another war is in the offering if politics don’t change.
Regime change in Iran would replace the Revolutionary Islamic Government with a more more pro-western form of government, but something different than the Pahlavi Dynasty dethroned in 1979.
Iran Wants America Out of the Middle East Forever
More U.S. troops are heading to the Persian Gulf as reinforcements are needed behind threats and attacks from Iranian backed militias in Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
Recently, missles fired by Hezbollah Militias supported by Iran hit an Iraqi military camp killing an American soldier and wounding several dozen, and in retailiation the US bombed members of that militia killing 25 and wounding nearly a one hundred.
Iran would like nother better than for the U.S. to drop sanctions and abandon the Middle East forever, so they can have their way with Israel and Saudi Arabia.
