The absence of religious freedom and intolerance will lead to an implosion in many predominately Islamic countries. Some of these countries will not allow another religion to prosper as it would be a threat to Islam.
Let’s zoom in on African countries of Egypt and Sudan where Christians are frequently targeted, simply for practicing a religion other than Islam. By the way Christianity arrived first in both countries.
In order to repair churches in Egypt and Sudan you have to get approval from the government. The very thought of constructing a new church will lead to riots and death to those making the proposal.
It is illegal for a Muslim to convert to Christianity in Sudan. It may not be a law in Egypt but it is unofficialy recognized and punishable by death at the hands of their Muslim neighbors.
This mindset not only applies to extremist groups like Al Quaeda or Islamic State, but to government officials and regular citizens. Even the great Egyptian Gamal Abdel Nasser was accused of discrimination and marginalization when it came to Coptic Christians.
ISLAM is a legitimate religion.
The problem I have is that Christianity is not allowed to expand in Egypt or exist in Sudan. But you better believe Islam will find a way to exist and expand in countries like Ethiopia and Eritrea which were once overwhelmingly Christian. Not anymore, as both countries or at least fifty percent Islam. This is viable because you have religious freedoms in those countries.
When you hear the verse there is no God but God; this can be easily translated into, there is no religion but Islam and Jesus is not the messenger. I’ve heard many excuses about what the Crusaders did in the Holy Land during the middles ages, but that was a different era.
What I find extremely hard to comprehend is that in this day and time Saudi Arabia will not allow Churches to be built and only Muslims can enter the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Yet they are allowed to expand Wahabbi extremist teachings all over the world.
You gotta believe change is on the way in many Islamic countries.
