If you want to drive Al-Shabaab out of Somalia bring in the Ethiopian Army. They have the Military Mite to get the job done. Their army is massive and they have the war machines to match anything the opposition can bring forth.
Currently there are approximately 5,000 Ethiopian soldiers fighting in Somalia. But it may require five times that amount and the other 22,000 members from AMISOM to bring civility back.
Ethiopia’s military is well trained, battle-hardened and they fight fire with fire. In other words they don’t always play by the rules laid down by the West. They can be just as brutal as Al-Shabaab and Somalians understand their mindset. When they go in they are not worried about what the Koran says or any other religious book, they are concerned about stopping religious fanatics from destabiling the entire region, known as the Horn of Africa.
Somalians need to make up their minds quickly, as whether they want to continue down this road of doom and gloom, or develop your country using competent people that are available, who are yearning for peace and security.
If you select the former then you will get a continuation of this Wahhabi ideology, and stuck in an 18th century time warp.
Somalians, a recent bomb blast that killed over 300 and injured another 400 at a busy intersection in Mogadishu, should convince you that without massive military help, you will experience religious violence for a long time.
That is why you need the Ethiopian Army.
What are you afraid of? Maybe it’s just having a Christian led country silencing Muslim fanatics. If that’s the case-good luck to you.
