A candidate for US House of Representative physically assaulted a bona fide reporter in Montana and the next day he wins the election.
What is going on in America?
I’ll tell you what’s going on.
A climate of fear exists in the political arena and much of the blame lay at the feet of President Trump.
Republican Greg Gianforte, the winner choked and body slammed Ben Jacobs, a reporter with the The Guardian, because he didn’t have an answer to a question about supporting the Affordable Health Care Act, that would deny coverage to 23 million Americans.
In addition to slamming the reporter to the ground, according to Fox News reporter Alicia Acuna, “he started punching him and moved on top and began yelling i’m sick and tired of this.”
Gianforte, who was endorsed by Trump, was sick and tired of the same question from the same reporter who is still waiting for an answer. Maybe next time he won’t throw a voice recorder in his face and scare the hell out of him. If he does he may not live to tell. The use of force went a little beyond Trump’s ruff and tumble campaign style. It’s normally shut up, be quiet and sit down.
Now that he’s an unofficial LEGISLATOR maybe he should seek political correctness from Trump’s Spokesperson Sean Spicer. If you intimidate them enough they may leave you alone. If not then ‘Beat the Hell Out of ‘Em.’Nothing is going to happen anyway. Gianforte was given a citation for misdemeanor assault, declared the winner and apologized for his bad behavior.
Once he is sworn into office he can do like President Trump, have a press conference with reporters who agree with his agenda. After the press conference non partisan reporters are notified of what transpired. At least Gianforte had the courage to say he was sorry for his actions to Mr. Ben Jacobs. Not like Trump during his campaign when a skirmish broke loose, it was like ‘they should have knock the crap out of him’.
When addressing his supporters after defeating Rob Quist, a democrat, Gianforte said his victory was a win for Montana residents, and a blow to the establishment that both he and Trump ran against. And he followed that up with a famous Trump line: ‘once sworn into office he will drain the swamp.’
When Nancy Pelosi heard that line she immediately called Gianforte “a wannabe Trump.” Simply put, it means if you keep questioning my involvement with the Russians during the campaign to defeat Hilary, or whether I knew about Flynn, Sessions or Manafort, I will take another trip to Arabia and sign a trillion dollar arms deal with the Emiratis. Upon my return if you have more questions I will kick your ass.
